Eivind Aadland is one of Norway’s most renowned conductors, with an international career and a background as a violinist. His existing website had become outdated, difficult to navigate and demanding to maintain. More than a profile, the new site needed to work as a professional tool: giving management an immediate way to present Aadland and his work to orchestras and promoters, while making performances, biography and relevant information easy to find.

The conventions of conductor websites provided a useful framework, but also a challenge. How could we create something immediately credible within the world of classical music, without making Aadland look like every other conductor?

We found the answer in Aadland himself. His calm, precise character informed a restrained editorial expression, while his background as a violinist became a subtle thread through the identity.

The logo transforms the E in Eivind by adding a fourth horizontal line, echoing the four strings of a violin. The same principle shapes the navigation, carrying the idea from identity into interface. Music, performances, biography and critical voices sit alongside Aadland’s personal art collection, creating a broader portrait of the person behind the profession.

A flexible CMS and automatically updated concert calendar make the platform easy for Aadland and his management to keep alive and relevant.

We delivered the website structure and UX, the visual design system including a distinctive logo mark, an intuitive CMS and development of the website.

The result is a clearer and more distinctive digital presence that brings together Aadland’s music, personality and art – while making it significantly easier for him and his management to publish, update and maintain.
