Reuse. Recycle. Rejoice.
Rimi is committed to being the Norwegian supermarket that helps families. This Christmas we found a relevant way to deliver help to families in a very unexpected and meaningful way.
We started by cleaning up communities at a local level. We gathered old discarded bikes, old forgotten sparks, broken Rimi Shopping Carts, and then we gave them with a new purpose.
We invented two new kinds of vehicles that would help people with their Christmas experience. The first vehicle was a bicycle/shopping cart mash-up. It was used to deliver groceries to customers who needed a hand, and to deliver hot chocolate to the kids at the playground on those extra cold days. The second vehicle was a 'spark'/shopping cart mash-up. A spark is a kick sled, which is a distinct part of Norwegian winter culture. The spark carts were used to deliver groceries, and were lent out to customers that had too many groceries to carry.
This initiative brought local stores closer to their customers, and showed that Rimi is an innovative brand that is involved in their communities.
