DØDSARKIV out today! Featured in D2.
Read all about "Dødsarkiv", designed by Anti, in D2 today. "Dødsarkiv" is a documentary photo book which provides exceptional insight on how a small subculture founded in Follo in 1984 evolved into one of Norway’s largest export products. The origin of Black Metal stems from the band Mayhem – the band of the now deceased Øystein Aarseth who was killed by Varg Vikernes in 1993. Over the years, the Black Metal community has exploded internationally. But Mayhem is and will remain the scene’s most important band.
We were hated, so we'd hate back. We were hated by all who enjoyed traditional heavy metal, of anyone who did not like metal, and their parents' generation, simply because of our dress code: long hair, black hair, upside down cross and nails.
Jørn "Necrobutcher" Stubberud
The book contains unique pictures of the band and other stories that bassist Jørn "Necrobutcher" Stubberud has accumulated in over thirty years. "Dødsarkiv" documents an exceptional era in Norwegian history. This is first time one of the founders of the infamous Norwegian black metal scene tells himself about what actually took place in these influential years. From monsters own belly, so to speak.
