Our new identity for Bergen International Festival has been nominated for the Grand Prix for Design Excellence from the Norwegian Design Council. Our work has had a strong impact and result on the festival in it’s first year launching it’s new identity.
In addition to winning the Design Excellence award, Anti and Bergen International Festival have been nominated for the Grand Prix for Design Excellence by the Norwegian Design Council, as one of four projects competing across all design disciplines (packaging, industrial, interactive, furniture, textile/fashion, service design and visual communication.) The award will be presented at Design Day in Oslo on April 2nd.
We can also report that our work has lead to very noticeable results for the festival. In 2013 the festival sold a record number of tickets, at 30,000 in total, the highest sales in the last 7 years. Additionally, the identity helped increase first time attendees, from 11% to 22% in one year.
To quote the minister of industry, Monica Mæland:
“Investing in the design sector can develop excellent, innovative products and services that strengthen the competitiveness and provability within one’s industry. Bergen International Festival is a good example of how design can be used to increase appeal and attract new audiences.”
