A classic print campaign for a classic book shop
«Art of words» is a common expression to describe images made out of words and letters. We have all seen portraits of Jimi Hendrix etc designed with words.
Norli’s Antique Books is Oslo’s oldest book shop, and have an international reputation among advanced collectors to be one of the very best in the second hand market. They have a wide selection of fine art books spanning from history, via classic art to photography and modern art.
With original thoughts,
print will never die
We decided to simply paint well known art with words, and - in our own opinion - strenghten the «Art of Words» expression.
The campaign runs in the cultural magazine Aftenposten K, and instead of spreading the ads over three issues, we ran all three in one single issue. We also made posters for instore use. Working with Norli’s Antique Books gives us the opportunity to challenge both the target group and ourselves with ideas and expressions that sometimes are harder to get. But the ones that actually can see the paintings when reading the words, will bond even stronger with the book shop.
